Join us as we teach you how to make five of the most popular desserts of the holiday season.  In this FULL DAY, hands-on class, you will learn the following:

  • Tried and true recipes for Red Velvet Cake, Sour Cream Pound Cake, Two Frosting, a Glaze, Southern Pecan Pie,  Sweet Potato Pie, Caramel Apple Pie and a flaky pie crust

  • Proper measuring techniques to insure consistent results every time

  • Mixing techniques that lead to melt in your mouth cake textures

  • Methods for prepping your cake pans so cakes never stick

  • How to fill and frost your cakes like the pros

  • How to properly prepare and cook sweet potatoes to maintain the flavor and get a smooth filling with no lumps

  • Quick and easy techniques for peeling, coring and slicing apples perfectly.

  • How to make several designs for the top crust including the lattice design

  • Simple decorative techniques that will wow your guests

  • And much, much more

We will provide all recipes, ingredients, supplies and smallwares.  You will need to bring

  • An apron (flour and powdered sugar get everywhere)

  • Comfortable shoes (we’ll be on our feet most of the class)

  • A notebook and pen (you’ll definitely want to take some notes)

Mixing is an integral step in getting the perfect cake and our goal is ensure you can achieve the best results at home with the tools you have. We STRONGLY RECOMMEND you bring your own mixer to determine proper mixing techniques with your machine. There will be a limited amount of mixers available for those who cannot bring their own.

At the end of class, you will take home all of your desserts, any leftover frosting, and a recipe booklet.
