Intimidated by fondant? Unsure about creating fondant cakes that have a clean finish without tears or wrinkles? This class is for you! We have years of experience creating fondant cakes of all shapes and sizes and we want to share all that knowledge with you. In this four hour, hands-on class, you will learn the following:
How to prep a cake for being covered in fondant
The qualities of good fondant and which brands work best.
How to properly roll fondant super thin
Techniques, tricks & tips for applying fondant like the pros, including how to achieve sharp corners.
How to cover square cakes, including paneling and draping techniques
And much, much more
We will provide all recipes, ingredients, supplies and smallwares. You will need to bring
Two 8” or 9” ROUND cake layers and two 8” or 9” SQUARE cake layers . We will provide cake dummies to practice on as well!
Your favorite rolling pin
An apron (flour and powdered sugar get everywhere)
Comfortable shoes (we’ll be on our feet most of the class)
A notebook and pen (you’ll definitely want to take some notes)
